Workshop on “Green Sand Quality Control” organized by the Thai Foundry Industry Association

          P.V. Casting and Machine Co., Ltd. would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Thai Foundry Industry Association for organizing the workshop titled “Green Sand Quality Control: The Starting Point of an Efficient Casting Process” on July 16, 2025, at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.

          The workshop covered the following key topics:
1. Fundamentals of green sand molding and the importance of sand characteristics in metal casting
2. Green sand composition and the ideal properties of sand suitable for metal casting
3. Factors affecting the strength of green sand
4. Standards for sand quality and various equipment used for quality measurement
5. Reference values used in controlling green sand quality
6. Common casting defects caused by sand quality and how to resolve them
7. Hands-on practice: Green sand quality control

          This workshop was a valuable opportunity for our personnel to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which can be directly applied to improve quality control and enhance the efficiency of our production processes.
